Workshop on a strategically important sustainability topic for Deutsche Post DHL Group

Challenge

Occupational health and safety (OHS) is a highly relevant sustainability issue for the world leading logistics provider Deutsche Post DHL Group. Therefore, a strategy meeting on OHS with the relevant managers of all business units was on the agenda as part of the further development of the Group strategy. fors.earth was commissioned to develop, prepare and facilitate the workshop.

Solution

In preparation, fors.earth conducted four interviews with the responsible heads of the business units in advance. In close cooperation with the client, fors.earth developed an interview guideline with qualitative and quantitative elements. In the interviews, hypotheses were discussed, critical discussion points were identified and expectations and needs for action were examined. The concept of the workshop as well as the methodical implementation were then based on these findings. fors.earth then used the diiscussions in the workshop, alongside the findings from the preliminary interviews, to formulate recommendations for further action, future focal points, foreseeable challenges and to give an external assessment of developments since the last OHS Strategy Meeting.

Impact

As a result of the strategy workshop, a roadmap for the implementation of the revised strategy was drawn up. The different experiences, interests and business needs of the business units were successfully transformed into a homogeneous Group Strategy.
